When you’re building a new home, every choice matters. Scale, finishes, and functionality all come together to create a space that feels personal and high-end rather than cookie-cutter.
The RHOC Project is a perfect example of how to approach a new build with intention. Here are the key things to consider:
1. Scale Matters
Lighting and art should always lean larger than you think.
In the living room, we used oversized chandeliers to anchor the open space.
In the entry, we doubled up on dramatic chandeliers for an unforgettable first impression.
2. Don’t Be Afraid to Go Bold
New builds can feel neutral, so bring in contrast and personality.
We created a custom checkerboard entry tile using black marble and green marble, cut to 24x24.
In the powder bath, we went bold with tiger wallpaper and a grey toilet.
3. Design for Everyday Function
Luxury is about living easier, not just looking good.
A morning bar in the primary bedroom gives our clients a built-in coffee station.
A steam unit in the laundry room means less dry cleaning and more convenience.
4. Layer Paint + Stain Finishes
Mixing tones adds dimension and makes a new build feel custom.
Walls, trim, and ceilings were all painted in Sherwin Williams Snowbound for a seamless effect.
Kitchen cabinetry in dark walnut stain grounded the palette.
Kitchen pendants and a coal sink added modern contrast.
5. Prioritize Details That Elevate
The finishing touches set the tone.
Champagne bronze faucets and bathroom pendants brought a warm edge.
Living room hardware elevated built-ins.
✨ Pro Tip: In a new build, play with scale, contrast, and everyday function. These are the elements that take a home from standard to extraordinary.
